FALLS COUNTY FELONY COURT DOCKET

On March 10, 2022, Judge Bryan F. Russ, Jr. convened court to hear felony matters presented by District Attorney Jody Gilliam. The following felony cases were disposed of:  

1st Degree Felony (5 to 99 years or life, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Robert Paul, Jr, 41, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession with intent to deliver, cocaine over 4 grams but less than 200 grams. He was sentenced to 15 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System and assessed a $1,500.00 fine. Paul was arrested on March 22, 2019, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.  

2nd Degree Felony (2 to 20 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Robert Paul, Jr, 41 from Marlin, pled guilty to bail jumping, enhanced. He was sentenced to 15 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System. He was arrested on April 15, 2020, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office. 

3rd Degree Felony (2 to 10 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Christian Urie Hernandez Sotelo, 26, from Marlin, pled guilty to evading arrest with motor vehicle. He was placed on 5 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. He was also ordered to pay court costs. Sotelo was arrested on January 1, 2022, by Marlin Police Department. 

Ronnie Dewayne Owens, 28, Reagan, pled guilty to driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. He was sentenced to 5 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for 5 years, assessed a $2,500.00 fine. Owens was arrested on July 30, 2021, by Marlin Police Department.  

State Jail Felony (6 to 24 months, up to $10,000.00 fine.)

Robert Paul, Jr, 41 from Marlin, pled guilty to abandon endanger child imminent danger bodily injury. He was sentenced to 24 months confinement in a State Jail Facility. He was arrested on March 22, 2019, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office. 

Ricardo Albarran, 20, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine less than one gram. He was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. He was also ordered to complete a drug intervention program. Albarran was arrested on July 31, 2021, by Marlin Police Department. 

Darius Jamal Robinson, 27, from Rosebud, pled guilty to theft of property>=$2,500 <$30,000.00.  He was sentenced to 18 months confinement in a State Jail Facility and assessed a $1,000.00 fine. Robinson was arrested on November 30, 2021, by Rosebud Police Department. 

Russell Thomas Black, 39, from Lott, pled guilty to possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine less than one gram. He was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. He was also ordered to complete a drug intervention program. Black was arrested on October 2, 2021, by Lott Police Department.
