Jay Elliott: Rotarians Step Up...That Is What We Do
Rotary Club members serve communities in the time of need.
Last year the Rotary Club of Marlin needed assistance helping Children’s Protective Services office with simple supplies for domestic violence victims. Rotary Clubs throughout the area and local members stepped up and helped.
As recently as two weeks ago, Rotary Club of Marlin's past club president Jay Elliott led the effort to help an impoverished parent help keep the family remain intact. Car seats, beds, clothing, and toys were quickly donated and delivered. Jay was willing to travel to Temple, Belton, Salado, and/or McGregor and pick them up if there were a donation.
This is what Rotarians do: 1) Promote peace, 2) Fight disease 3) Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene 4) Save mothers and children, 5) Support education, and 6) Grow local economies.
Together, we Rotarians apply our professional experience and personal commitment to tackle our communities’ most persistent problems, finding new, effective ways to enhance health, stability, and prosperity.
