MISS JUNETEENTH PAGEANT
The 7th Annual Tri County Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant will be held on June 21 at 6 p.m. at the Cultural Activities Center Auditorium in Temple. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $15 at the door.

PICNIC AND BBQ COOKOFF
Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold its Annual Picnic and BBQ Cookoff on June 22 and 23. Cookoff on Saturday along with horseshoe tournament and margarita contest. Serving begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Cost is $15 per plate dine-in or take-out. Auction at 1 p.m. Church is located at 213 N. 6th Street in Lott.
BTW Alumni Parade
The BTW Annual Alumni Parade will be held in Downtown Marlin on June 29 at 10 a.m. Applications for parade entries need to be turned in no later than Friday, May 31, 2024. Entries are free.
BBQ CHICKEN SALE
St. Joseph Catholic Church will have a BBQ Chicken Halves & Bake Sale on June 30. Chicken halves are $8 each, pre-sale tickets only. DENTAL CLINIC
A free dental clinic will be held on July 19-20 in Falls County. Cleanings, filling and extractions. Starting at 6 a.m. until at capacity at 905 Durango Avenue in Chilton at the Chilton ISD Building. Register for a pre-screen on June 28 in Marlin at Falls Community Hospital, 322 Coleman Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-screens are by apointment only. You do not need to attend the pre-screen for the main event. No proof of ID, documentation or insurance needed.

American Legion Post #31 will be meeting in a new location at the Falls County Historical Museum, 145 Heritage Row in Marlin on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. They would like to remind the public of three flag disposal locations in Marlin: Judge Jay T Elliott’s Office in the Falls County Courthouse, Marlin City Hall and the Marlin Democrat News Office. MARLIN SENIOR CENTER
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child.
