BANQUET
The Spring Sports Banquet for Marlin ISD will be on May 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets for parents and non-student athletes can be purchased from the Marlin Athletic Booster Club for $10 per person. It will be held at the Falls County Youth Pavilion, 325 Willis Street, Marlin.

Parade
The BTW Annual Alumni Parade will be held in Downtown Marlin on June 29 at 10:00 a.m. Applications for parade entries need to be turned in no later than Friday, May 31, 2024. Entries are free. Call or text 281-682-1139.

Austin Food Truck will be at the First Baptist Church/Golden Years parking lot on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 10-11 a.m.

AMERICAN LEGION
American Legion Post #31 will be meeting in a new location at the Falls County Historical Museum, 145 Heritage Row in Marlin on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. They would like to remind the public of three flag disposal locations in Marlin: Judge Jay T Elliott’s Office in the Falls County Courthouse, Marlin City Hall & the Marlin Democrat News Office.
MARLIN SENIOR
CENTER
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

ASSISTANCE
Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach. Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place.

NAACP will meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hitching Post on 5029 State Hwy 7.
