MTX Juneteenth Organization will host the Second Annual COVID Walk/Run. Registration is $20. Run and walk. Kosse Methodist Bazzaar
Kosse will be the place to be on Oct. 7 for the 43rd annual bazaar of the Kosse Methodist Church. Everyone is invited to bring their family and friends and come early to browse through the white elephant sale, do some early Christmas shopping at the craft store and silent auction and find something wohderful at the country store and bake sale. Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for the many great items on the raffle this year. Raffle tickets are available for any church member or on the day of the bazaar and you don’t have to be present to win. Stay for a delicious lunch of BBQ ribs and sausage with all the trimmings or maybe you’d prefer a sandwich. No matter what you choose, it will all be fantastic. The live auction will start at 1 p.m. with many unusual and beautiful items up for auction. It will be a great day so hope to see you all there for a day of fun, food and most importantly - fellowship.

Well mark your calendars for Oct. 7 & 8 and come prove it at the 2nd Annual Small Town Throwdown BBQ Cookoff sponsored by the Riesel Lions Club. $5 Entry Fee $10 Cooler Fee. On Saturday, October 7, there will be a domino tournament & a cornhole tournament Cookoff Registration begins at noon. SEMINAR
Surviving the Holidays is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. Those who attend will receive a Survival Guide filled with practical tips, encouraging words, journaling ideas, and exercises for daily help through the holiday season. The seminar will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Baptist Church in Marlin. Registration cost is $10, which includes refreshments and the Survival Guide. Program
The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child. Marlin senior
center
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.
Lions Club

Lions Club of Marlin will meet every second Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m. at the Chicken Place.
Veterans Assistance
Caritas of Waco Inc. will be in Marlin every first and third Monday of the month as part of their Veterans Case Management Program: Assistance For Veterans / Outreach.
