Superheroes attend District Workshop

Members of the Falls County Retired Teachers Chapter recently attended the Fall Workshop at the Region 12 Education Service Center in Waco.  

The theme, “Superheroes for 70 Years” commemorates the number of years of advocating for improving benefits for all education retirees and promotes the well-being of all its members. Jo Ann Sugg of Coryell County is the District 12 President. Elizabeth Richardson represented the local chapter as District 12 Retirement Education Chair.

The fiscal year report indicated chapters volunteered 285,000 hours in community service, 10,000 in book donations to elementary schools and in twelve chapters, $15,000 in scholarships. The members are gearing up for the April 15-17, 2024, TRTA State Convention in Corpus Christi.

FC TRTA Membership is open to retirees who receive a monthly annuity from Teacher Retirement System (TRS). However now, it is not limited for teachers only.  For more information, call local president, Elizabeth Richardson at (979) 739-0219.
