HGTV SEEKING SUBMISSIONS FOR HOMETOWN TAKEOVER

HGTV announced last week that Ben and Erin Napier, of HGTV’s Home Town, are taking submissions of towns to give a full makeover to in an upcoming limited series.

On their show, the Napiers have transformed their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi one home at a time. They’ve not only helped rescue and enhance dozens of residences in the area, but they’ve also played a pivotal role in revitalizing Laurel’s downtown while preserving and celebrating the town’s architectural treasures, endemic charm, and historic features. The new show, called Hometown Takeover, will take the same concept and apply it to an entirely new town, from single family homes to public parks and everything in between.

The network is seeking submissions from towns in the United States that have a population of 40,000 or less, that have HGTV seeking submissions for Hometown Takeover historical architecture, and a main street that needs a face lift.

“This is a big one. HGTV has never, ever taken on a whole town renovation and restoration project and we’re so proud and excited to be leading the team that will get it done,” said Erin in a press release. “Show us those photos and videos. Tell us what makes your town special and how you’d like us to help make it better. You may see us in your town soon.”

Submissions should comprehensively explain why you think your town should be restored. It can involve anything by way of photos, videos, and stories, ranging from places that need a little extra love to the people who will be affected if this project were to happen. There is a limit of five photos and one video. Some ideas from HGTV:

• A place that you think needs a makeover. i.e. a diner, coffee shop, home or playground.

• A tour around town—the places that need help and the people who love this town.

• Anywhere your town needs love and what you love about it
