Brushy Creek frustrations continue for Marlin City Council
Brian Sledge, Dave Mitamura, and Bill Mulligan, lawyers working on the Brushy Creek project on behalf of the City of Marlin, were in attendance at the City Council meeting on Jan. 14, but did not have answers to all of the questions asked by the council.
The council approached many subjects expressed last in last week’s meeting – being updated on progress more often, the status of water rights, and what the next step in the process would be if the city decided to continue.
Mitamura, of DCM Policy Consulting, was contracted in November of 2018 to determine how and if the city could initiate a continuation of the project, but could not start work on the project until October of 2019 due to waiting approval for a permit renewal.
He and Mulligan, of Mulligan and Associates, have worked together to figure out where in the process the city currently is. The City Council renewed their contract for 60 days this past November in order to get more information
