Area Active Duty service members honored by American Legion
The Marlin City Council unanimously voted to support American Legion Post 31 in their quest to recognize active duty service members in the area.
Commander Freb Ornsby was at the meeting to present the program to the council and ask their permission to move forward.
“This project was actually a brainstorm of one of our members, Rogers Craig,” Ornsby said.
The project entails posting double-sided banners featuring the name and photo of active duty servicemen and women from the Falls County area on the light poles that line the downtown Marlin area, in an attempt to recognize the younger generation of enlistees.
