Veterans Day event set for Nov. 11
Veterans Day, 2020 will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11 o’clock.
The Falls County Historical Commission has sponsored this event for many years that honors the men and women who have served to make our county safe on own shores and across the globe. The American Legion Post 31 has joined the Commission in making these events successful.
Sadly, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic, a number of Veterans Day events have been cancelled in order to follow the health guidelines of people gathering in groups. The Board of Directors of the Historical Commission in Falls County has determined that the veterans of our armed forces should not become victims of this unrest and Veterans Day must be honored.
Therefore, keeping in line with observing health and safety mandates concerning the coronavirus , and keeping our commitment to our country’s heroes, this year’s events will be held as a drive-in ceremony on the parking lot of the First Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas.
The event begins at 11 o’clock a.m. You and your family will be able to sit in your vehicle and observe the whole ceremony including the National Anthem, pledges, prayer, historical facts, patriotic music and stories from veterans. Load up your family and come join us in saying thank you to the men and women who risked their own safety to ensure ours.
