FALLS COUNTY FELONY DOCKET
On June 30, 2022, Judge Bryan F. Russ, Jr. convened court to hear felony matters presented by District Attorney Jody Gilliam. The following felony cases were disposed of:
3rd Degree Felony (2 to 10 years, up to $10,000.00 fine.)
Roman Gabriel Martinez who had been placed on probation for the offense of bail jumping, was revoked and sentenced to 4 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System.
Brett Taylor Rhodes, 55, from Chilton, pled guilty to theft of property >$30,000 < $150,000.00. He was sentenced to 8 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System and assessed a $1,000.00 fine. Rhodes was arrested on March 19, 2021, by Texas Department of Public Safety.
Darrius Leon Brooks, 21, from Calvert, pled guilty to evading arrest in a motor vehicle. He was placed on 5 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. Order to complete 180 hours of community service. Brooks was arrested on May 29, 2022, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Clarence Johnson, 30, from Marlin, pled guilty evading arrest in a motor vehicle. He was placed on 5 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine. Order to complete 120 hours of community service. Johnson was arrested on April 14, 2022, by Marlin Police Department.
State Jail Felony (6 to 24 months, up to $10,000.00 fine.) Darius Richard Walker, 42, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance cocaine, less than one gram. He was placed on 3 years deferred probation, assessed a $1,500.00 fine, ordered to complete 120 hours of community service. Walker was arrested on July 30, 2021, by Marlin Police Department.
Roman Gabriel Martinez who had been placed on probation for the offense of possession of a controlled substance, tetrahydrocannabinol, less than one gram, was revoked and sentenced to 18 months confinement in a State Jail Facility.
