Marlin fires destroy businesses, homes
Marlin is reeling from two different fires over the last week.
A fire in Downtown Marlin consumed the Petal Patch and property owned by a nearby hospital at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2.
The Marlin Fire Department arrived on the scene within four minutes to find smoke pouring from the building.
Firefighters received a call around 1:15 a.m. Nov. 2 at the 260 block of Coleman Street.
The Falls Community Hospital and Clinic were not significantly impacted as business is running as usual, except for their chiropractic clinic that shares an electrical line with the impacted area.
The Petal Patch Flower shop that was destroyed also held 20 boxes of donations for the Toys for Marlin kids fundraiser.
Early Friday morning, a fire gutted the Western Motel near the intersection of Ward Street and Texas 6 Business. Marlin Firefighters got there around 4:22 a.m.
