Water restrictions modified
A temporary modification has been applied to the City of Marlin’s Stage 4 Water Conservation and Drought Plan.
City of Marlin Mayor Susan Byrd announced Thursday in a statement that as a result of improvements in the present water crisis, a modification to the plan concerning laundromats and car washes was issued.
Laundromats are able to operate, but their hours of operation are restricted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Car washes can also operate, but their hours of operation are restricted from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Byrd says all other Stage 4 Water Conservation and Drought Plan requirements, including but not limited to filling swimming pools and water yards, are to remain in place. Residents are strongly encouraged to conserve water in every way feasible.
The Marlin Police Department has been charged with enforcing these Stage 4 water restrictions. If, for any reason, the water situation does not continue to improve, the modified restrictions will be terminated and full Stage 4 restrictions will be put back into effect.
