MEN’S DAY
Marlin Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Vincent Hartsfield, pastor, will celebrate its upcoming Men’s Day with a Men’s Day Breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 8 a.m. Workshop speaker will be Pastor Arthur Sneed. The Men’s Day Annual will follow on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall with Pastor Joe Scaggs and the True Vine Baptist Church family. 2nd Annual Chilton Family Health and Back To School Expo will be held on Aug. 17, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chilton ISD, 905 Durango Ave., Chilton.

CONCERT
Bremond Chamber of Commerce will host a fundraiser concert and dance with music by The Risky Liver Band on Aug. 31. There will also be a silent auction. Further details will be announced.

American Legion Post #31 will be meeting in a new location at the Falls County Historical Museum, 145 Heritage Row in Marlin on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. They would like to remind the public of three flag disposal locations in Marlin: Judge Jay T Elliott’s Office in the Falls County Courthouse, Marlin City Hall and the Marlin Democrat News Office. MARLIN SENIOR CENTER
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.

The Boys & Girls Club of Falls County has an after school program that offers things such as homework help, health and life skills, and individual tutoring. It is $20 per child.
