Marlin shuts out Chilton in first-ever meeting
The Marlin Bulldogs traveled to take on the Chilton Pirates in the first-ever meeting for the two schools on Sept. 13. Marlin handily shut out Chilton 43-0.
Marlin started the game on fire with a 22 point first quarter and never looked back. The second quarter was scoreless and Marlin went into halftime leading 22-0. The Bulldogs continued to pull away in the second half with a 21 point half and kept the shut out to win 43-0.
Roderick Suiters had a fantastic game, throwing for 81 yards and two touchdowns, along with rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown. Caden Judie was unstoppable, catching three passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns along with returning two punt returns for a touchdown on special teams.
The Bulldog defense was an immovable object, allowing just five first downs and no points. With this victory, the Bulldogs have a record of 1-2.
Next up for Marlin will be a neutral site game against the Hearne Eagles. The game will be on Friday, Sept. 20, at Waco ISD Stadium and kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
