Big Boy Visits Marlin

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, residents and visitors in Marlin had rare opportunity to witness a living piece of railroad history as Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 steam locomotive made a scheduled stop at the Wood Street Crossing as part of its Heartland of America Tour. Union Pacific’s steam locomotive Big Boy 4014 is one of the largest and most powerful steam engines ever built. This tour celebrates America’s rich railroad heritage, offering spectators a unique chance to witness the grandeur of steam-powered rail travel. Rail fans, history buffs, and families are invited to experience this unforgettable event.
