Bulldogs blank Riesel

The Marlin Bulldogs football team traveled to take on the Riesel Indians for their homecoming game on Oct. 25. 

The game was originally going to be played in Marlin, but at some point during pregame, the stadium lights failed. The game was delayed and the teams waited to see if they could be fixed, but eventually the game was moved to Riesel and the game kicked off at 8 p.m. 

Marlin shut out Riesel, winning 20-0. 

The first half was very close and heavy on defense as Marlin led 3-0 at halftime. 

The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half and never looked back, outscoring the Indians 17-0 to win the game 20-0. 

With this victory, the Bulldogs have a record of 5-3 and a perfect district record of 3-0. 

Next up, Marlin will travel to take on the Rosebud-Lott Cougars. The game will be on Friday, Nov. 1, and kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
