44th Annual Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic Jan. 9 in Cameron

The 44th Annual Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic will be held Jan. 9 at the Milam County Youth Exposition Building at 301 S. Houston Street in Cameron. 

For years, the Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic has provided educational opportunities for cow/calf producers in Central Texas.

This year’s Cow Calf Clinic will begin at 7:30 a.m. with Registration and the opening of the industry trade show to feature the Texas Beef Council, several different livestock nutrition companies, various ag lenders, animal health representatives and more. 

Coffee & donuts will be provided for participants. 

The educational portion will include topics such as:

• 2025 Beef Cattle Market Update and Outlook – Dr. Jason Johnson, Associate Professor & Extension Economist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension

• Hay Storage & Feeding Types: How to Get the Most Out of Your Investment – Dr. Larry Redmon, Professor and Associate Department Head – Department of Soil & Crop Science, Texas A&M University

• Live Demonstration: Evaluating Structure and Conformation – Dr. Joe Paschal, Retired Livestock Specialist and former Executive Vice President of the American Brahman Breeders Association

• Lunch: Provided by the Milam County Junior Livestock Association

• TDA Laws & Regulations Update – Dr. Mark Matocha, Professor & Extension Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension

• Pre-Emergent Herbicide Discussion: How to Control Common Pasture Weeds – Zach Howard, Extension Weed Specialist

Following these, door prizes will be given, and CEU certificates will be distributed.

2 hours of CEU’s will be offered for pesticide applicators, 1 in IPM and 1 in Laws & Regulations.
