Bulldogs set for Shelbyville in Regional Finals

The Marlin Bulldogs will take on Shelbyville in the Regional Finals on Friday night.
The basketball team traveled to Palestine on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to take on the Hawkins Hawks in the Regional Semi-Finals. Marlin defeated Hawkins 61-52 in a game they never trailed.
The Bulldogs began the game with a 9-0 start and ended the first quarter leading 18-7. Marlin staged off an early rally by Hawkins in the second quarter and led 31-18 at halftime. The Hawks kept clawing their way back and closed the gap to eight in the fourth quarter, but Marlin held strong to beat the Hawks 61-52.
Next up for the Bulldogs is the Shelbyville Dragons at Athens High School in the Regional Finals on Friday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m.
