Marlin 4B EDC delivers on its mission to support local businesses

The Marlin 4B Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is actively fulfilling its mission of fostering economic growth and supporting local businesses.

One of the latest success stories is Refresqueria Tropical, located at 114 Williams Street, is a beloved local restaurant that recently received a $2,500 grant from the Marlin EDC to enhance its facility and improve its customer experience.

With the funding, Refresqueria Tropical was able to install insulation on its roof and repaint its exterior walls, improving both energy efficiency and curb appeal. These upgrades benefit the business and contribute to the beautification and revitalization of Marlin’s commercial landscape.

“The Marlin EDC exists to support and empower local businesses,” said Dr. John Barrett, President of the Marlin EDC. “By providing funding opportunities like this, we help small businesses grow, enhance their operations, and strengthen our local economy. Refresqueria Tropical is a perfect example of how these investments make a real difference.”

The Marlin 4B EDC continues to encourage local entrepreneurs and business owners to explore available resources and funding opportunities. These grants help businesses improve infrastructure, expand services, and contribute to a thriving Marlin economy.
