Small Grain Field Day set in McGregor
The Annual Small Grain Field Day will be held on Wednesday, April 23, near McGregor.
Hosted by County AgriLife Extension offices in Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hamilton, Hill, Johnson, Limestone and McLennan counties.
The Hard Red Winter Wheat varieties are planted in a side-by-side demonstration located on Smith Road, North side of Hwy 84, which is approx. halfway between Waco and McGregor, close to Cotton Belt Parkway. There will be an AgriLife Extension sign out on Hwy. 84 for the field day program.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the wheat plot field. We will start in the field of Kevin Huffman.
Breakfast will be provided by AgTrust Farm Credit. Around 9 a.m., then move to the McGregor Research Center, located at 773 Ag Farm Road in McGregor for the remainder of the program.
There everyone will hear from guest speakers and have the famous Tenderloin Steak Tips for lunch.
This program will conclude with a Tour of the Small Grain Research at the McGregor Research Center.
This program will offer 4.5 Certified Crop Advisor Credits, 2 TDA IPM CEU’s, with the opportunity for an additional IPM CEU offered after lunch.
