Class of 1950 Alumni, where are you?
The City of Marlin was a very different place back in the 1950s. People could be found strolling the town, either heading to the shops or the bath houses.
Growing up in Marlin during that time was indeed different from today’s declining atmosphere.
Alumni from the Marlin High School Class of 1950 are seeking to find the classmates they roamed the halls with that year.
“We want to know if anyone else is still alive,” said Beth Donley, daughter of Raymond ‘Pot’ Donley. “Daddy wants to know which friends are still around.”
The family is searching for community members from both the Capps Street and V.A. Hospital Neighborhoods.
From Capps Street: Mary Melvin Cole, Sydney Ann Collins, Carol Harder, Marie Meyers, Betty Childs, Arlene (no last name known), and Gwen Hayes.
From the V.A. Hospital Area: Irene Rush, Mary Gordon Garrett, Lucy Lee Winfree, Ann Aldridge, Nadine Sabesta, Ethel Chilton, and Sue Mosh.
“Any help would be so awesome,” the female Donley said.
She went on to say that these were the only names her father could remember, but that both hope the list will continue to grow as research continues
Anyone with information pertaining to a Class of 1950 MHS Alumni, living or deceased, please call Raymond “Pot” Donley at (281) 734-2969 to share in the search.
