MISD Athletics impacted by COVID closure
Marlin ISD secondary schools were closed from Sept. 23-25 due to concerns of rising coronavirus positivity rates. The spike in cases within the district has negatively impacted the athletics programs at both Marlin Middle School and Marlin High School.
The Bulldogs had to cancel their scheduled football game against football on Sept. 25 against Wortham, leaving their overall record at 1-2. They are set to face Italy for the first district game of the season at the Marlin Football Field this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs are in a similar position, except that their games have been postponed to an unknown date. They were set to face Bremond on Sept. 22, Mount Calm on Sept. 25, and Wortham on Sept. 29.
At the junior high level, all scheduled games were cancelled until the week of Oct. 5.
