Bulldogs battle in China Spring

The Marlin Lady Bulldogs girls basketball team participated in the Aggieland Invitational in College Station during the weekend of Dec. 26-28. 

The Lady Bulldogs finished the weekend with a record of 2-2 and finished as silver bracket runner ups. 

Marlin played two games on Thursday, the first was against the Wharton Lady Tigers. The Lady Bulldogs were victorious, winning 55-28. 

The second game of the day was against the Canton Lady Eagles, and Marlin was defeated 46-30. With this loss, Marlin was placed in the silver bracket of the tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs played two games on Friday, the first was a matchup with the Paris Lady Cats. Marlin finished on top, beating Paris 34-30. 

Their final game of the tournament was in the silver bracket championship against the Henderson Lady Lions. Marlin was defeated by Henderson, losing 50-36. 

With this loss, Marlin now has a record of 7-6 and a district record of 2-0. After playing at home on Tuesday New Years Eve against the Riesel Lady Indians, Marlin will travel to take on the Axtell Lady Horns. The game will be Friday, Jan. 3, and tip off is set for 6:15 p.m.
