Bulldogs beat Crawford to open district
The Marlin Bulldogs football team traveled to Robinson to take on the Crawford Pirates for their district opener on Oct. 11.
Marlin handily defeated Crawford 28-7.
The Pirates opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 42-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead. Marlin answered with a 41-yard touchdown run by Roderick Suiters to tie the game at 7. The Bulldogs scored the lone points in the second quarter with a 31-yard touchdown pass from Suiters to Caden Judie to take the lead 14-7.
Marlin shutdown Crawford in the second half, outscoring the Pirates 14-0 to win the game 28-7. With this victory, the Bulldogs have a record of 3-3 and a district record of 1-0.
Next up, Marlin will travel to take on the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles. The game will be on Friday, Oct. 18, and kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
