Bulldogs defeat Holland, set for Schulenburg
The Marlin Bulldogs football team traveled to Waco to take on the Holland Hornets on Friday, Nov. 15, for the Bi-District round of the playoffs. Marlin soundly defeated Holland, beating the Hornets 51-7 to advance to the next round.
The Bulldogs started the game strong, shutting out Holland 27-0 in the first half. Marlin continued the onslaught in the second half, outscoring the Hornets 24-7 to win the game 51-7.
Roderick Suiters had a phenomenal game, throwing for 248 yards and four touchdowns along with rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown. Caden Judie also had a great game, catching two passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. De’angelo Wright was outstanding, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown. Ty’raun Bell was incredible, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Womack was also phenomenal, catching seven passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
The defense was fantastic, forcing a fumble, catching two interceptions, and allowing just seven points in the game.
Next up, Marlin will take on the Schulenburg Shorthorns for the area round of the playoffs. The game will be on Friday, Nov. 22, at Hutto High School and kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
