Bulldogs kick off new season against Lexington

On Friday, Aug. 30, the Marlin Bulldogs football team opened up their season with a road match against the Lexington Eagles. They were defeated by Lexington 27-12. The first half was a tight, defensive game as Marlin went into halftime trailing 6-0. Lexington pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 21-12 to beat Marlin 27-12. Next up for Marlin will be a neutral site game against the Honey Grove Warriors. The game will be on Friday, Sept. 6, at Royse City High School and kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
