Bulldogs, Lady Dogs get big wins over Riesel

The Marlin Lady Bulldogs basketball team traveled to take on the Riesel Lady Indians on Friday, Jan. 19. Marlin was victorious over Riesel, winning 47-33. 

With this victory, Marlin has an overall record of 19-3 and a district record of 8-1. Following that performance was the Bulldogs team against the Riesel Indians. 

The boys came out victorious, demolishing Riesel 73-20. 

Aarik Smith-Shelley played a great game with 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals. Jaidan Womack was also terrific with 12 points, two rebounds, and an assist. Jerry Willis was incredible with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jordan Womack had a great game with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. 

With this victory, Marlin has an overall record of 10-4 and a perfect district record of 7-0. 

After home games between the Hubbard Jaguars and Lady Jaguars on Tuesday, Marlin will remain home to host the Wortham Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs. Both games will be on Friday, Jan. 26, and the girls game will tip off at 6:15 p.m. and the boys game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
