Bulldogs, Lady Dogs head for State Track Meet

The Marlin Boys Track team placed third at the Regional Meet with several earning a trip to the State Track Meet in Austin on May 13.

Praiyer Jones earned to first places in discuss and shot put and will be competing at state.

The 4x100 relay team of TraJon Butler, Derion Gullette, Jeoffery Mims and IAyre Kee placed first and they also placed second in the 4x200 for a ticket to state.

TraJon Butler placed third in the 100-meter and Derion Gullette placed second in shot put to punch their tickets to state.

Others placing were: Edgar Benitez – ninth place in 800-meter; IAyre Kee – sixth in 200-meter; Derion Gullette – 10th in long jump.

The girls placed eighth at the Regional Meet.

Saniya Suiters will head to the state meet after placing first in shot put.

Others placing were: Laneshia Massington – eighth placed in high jump and sixth in 400-meter; Keundra Wilson – third in triple jump; Yuritzzy Montelongo-Carrlizales – third in 800-meter; and the 4x200 meter relay team of Montelongo-Carrizales, Akeelah McGee, Wilson, and Sharyia Womack placed sixth.
