Bulldogs regroup in search of first win
On Friday, September 7, the Whitney Wildcats (1-0) will travel to Marlin to take on the Mighty Bulldogs (0-1), who despite losing their home opener, will regroup to get the first W of the new season. In the first week of the season,
Whitney went to war with Jarrell High School in what proved to be a battle of whits and heart, a battle that Whitney would go on to win 27-12. Marlin, who played against the visiting Bulldogs of McGregor, lost the game by a substantial amount, however, it was not until the fourth and final quarter that McGregor managed to shut down the game. Up until that point, Marlin managed to hang on, but fatigue finally set in allowing the game to slip away. It is no secret that Marlin’s roster was inexperienced in regards to actual game time, but with this first game out of the way the Bulldogs can take this experience and use it moving forward, after all you never know if you are ready until you take that first hit
