Gullette named Co-MVP of District 8-2A
This year, the Marlin Bulldogs football team had a season to remember as they finished the year as the district runners up.
They finished the season with a district record of 4-1 and an overall record of 11-4 and made it all the way to the semifinals.
The Bulldogs season was ended with a 19-12 loss to the Hawley Bearkats in the semifinals. As great as that season was, the achievements keep coming for the team.
Earlier this week, several members of the football team received all-district honors.
Here are the awards that were given to the team.
Co-MVP: Derion Gullette
Special teams player of the year: Zha’mauryon Lofton
Offesnsive co-MVP: Trajon Butler
Co-Defesnsive newcomer: Tyraun Bell
Offensive newcomer: Desmond Woodson Jr.
Defensive Lineman: Tremayne Richardson
All-District first team: Mario Upwood, I’aire Kee, Jeofrey Mims, Ty Harris, Zha’mauryon Lofton, Jemere Hartsfield, and Ke’untre Thomas
All-District second team: Pablo Albarran, Jordan Womack, Keiayr Young, Kenneth Hayes, Jermacy Mitchell, Ja’marien Womack, Isaiah Sanchez, Bennie Lopez
