Historic Soccer Season
The Marlin Bulldogs soccer team made school history last week making their first postseason appearance. The Bulldogs traveled to Cameron on Tuesday, March 26, for the Bi-District round of the playoffs. They took on the Taylor Ducks and were victorious, winning 5-2 for their first postseason victory. The game was very tight in the first half, as the teams entered halftime tied at 1. Marlin pulled away in the second half, outscoring Taylor 4-1 to beat the Ducks 5-2.
The Bulldogs traveled to Navasota on Thursday, March 28, to face the Stafford Spartans in the area round. Marlin was shut out by Stafford, losing 4-0 to bring their season to an end. Stafford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and doubled it in the second half with two more goals to win 4-0. Congratulations to the Marlin Bulldogs on a historic season.
