Marlin Bulldogs top district play at 4-0
The Marlin Bulldogs football team traveled to take on the Rosebud-Lott Cougars Friday, Nov. 1.
Marlin soundly defeated Rosebud-Lott, winning 46-15.
Marlin started the game strong with a 19-0 spurt in the first quarter and never looked back.
The Bulldogs scored on their first three offensive possessions: a 14-yard touchdown run by Roderick Suiters, a 39-yard touchdown run by Ty’raun Bell, and a 73-yard touchdown run by De’angelo Wright.
They entered halftime leading 26-7. The Bulldogs continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 20-8 to win 46-15.
Roderick Suiters had a fantastic game, throwing for 170 yards and two touchdowns along with rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
Dai’viyon Evans ran the ball well, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown. De’angelo Wright was also incredible, rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown. Ty’raun Bell was fantastic, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Caden Judie was spectacular, catching three passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
“I think the coaching staff did a good job on both sides of the ball, having a great game plan coming in, knowing we were going up against a really good team.” said Coach Jeff Rogers. “District championships are what the standard is and that’s what our kids prepare to do, to come out and play and to win one.”
With this victory, the Bulldogs have a record of 6-3 and a perfect district record of 4-0.
Next up, Marlin will travel to take on the Moody Bearcats for their regular season finale. The game will be on Friday, Nov. 8, and kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
