Marlin track heads for Area Meet

Several Marlin track stars are headed for the Area meet on April 10.

The Marlin boys and girls track teams participated in the district meet in Riesel on Monday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 2. Here are the results: 

The girls team finished 6th with a total of 35 points.

DeZyre Davis was sixth in 100m dash.

Keundra Wilson was second in triple jump, first in long jump, first in 100m dash, and third in 200m dash. She will head to Area.

The boys finished 2nd with a total of 125 points.

Danique Benjamin was sixth in discus.

Julio Smith-Shelley was sixth in 400m dash.

Charles Williams was fourth in shot put.

DeAngelo Wright was third in 100m dash and will head Area.

Keyshaun Massington was second in 100m dash, and first in 200m dash as will head to Area.

Roderick Suiters was fourth in high jump.

Jordan Womack was sixth in long jump, and first in triple jump. He will head to Area in triple jump.

Jaden Ray was third in long jump, and fourth in 100m dash.

TyRaun Bell was third in shot put.

Brysen Maxwell-Steele was first in discus, and first in shot put. He will head to Area.

Christian Diles was second in 110m hurdles.

Keyshaun Massington was first in 100m dash.

The 4x100 relay came in first and will head to Area. Team members are DeAngelo Wright, Jaden Ray, Christian Diles, and Keyshaun Massington.

The 4x200 relay came in fifth. Team members are DeAngelo Wright, Jaden Ray, Christian Diles, and TyRaun Bell.

The Area meet will be hosted by Riesel on Thursday, April 10.
